March 2014 - help wanted please
Our secretary Richie received an email and asked if it can be put on the website -
Hi Rich, I’m taking students and staff from Ark William Parker Academy to volunteer in Ugana again on 1st April and am desperately looking for old unwanted crash helmets to take with us (so that we are insured to ride on boda boda motorbike taxis there) and was wandering if Triumph Owners Club can help please? We then leave the helmets out there for the taxi drivers. The roads are so dangerous, and most don’t have them. I need 8 crash helmets.

If anyone can help, please contact Rich on richardblackwell955@btinternet.com

November 2009 - Bonneville story
Dear Triumph Enthusiasts,

In the 3 months of promotional activities since the launch of my book "Save the Triumph Bonneville! The Inside Story of the Meriden Workers' Co-op", sales in the UK have exceeded all expectations. I've cleared with my publisher the circulation (Fwd) of the Veloce website blogs below: these provide details of the promotions undertaken so far and I am sure all concerned, home and abroad, will enjoy them.

1. http://velocenews.blogspot.com/search?q=the+triumph+bonneville+celebration
2. http://velocenews.blogspot.com/search?q=save+the+triumph+bonneville
3. http://velocenews.blogspot.com/search?q=Edward+Turner+Blue+Plaque

Of necessity, during book signing promotional events, time for discussion about what happened at the Meriden Co-op was very limited. Accordingly during 2010, I intend to be available at club branch meetings so that further discussions can take place and your questions answered.

Very best regards
John Rosamond.

March 2009 - Kent & East Sussex Railway
Had a note from Paul at the Kent & Sussex Railway -

I am currently looking for exhibits to attend a small gathering at Northiam station, as part of the Kent & East Sussex Railway’s “Last train’s gone” event. The event takes place on the May day weekend (2nd/3rd/4th May) and I wondered if anybody with a historic bike within the Rother Triumph owners club may be interested in attending (1960’s or older vehicles to fit the theme of the event).

If you or any other club member were to be interested in attending the event, please feel free to contact me either by telephone
(01424 427903 / 07863 553400) or email(kesrpaul@yahoo.com), for further details.

Thank you for your time.

Paul Beale"

What a cracker!
What a surprise we have for you this month. We have just been contacted by John who wrote this -

"Hi, I have a t595 That I raced when they first come out. I never sold it because I won the New Era Motorcycle Racing Club, Twins and triple championship in 1999 and I do believe that makes it the 1st Hinckley Triumph, championship winning bike. I have just about finished putting it back together looking as near as I can to how it looked 10 years ago. Attached is a picture of it now, I will send you some pictures when its finished. It may be of some interest to your members. By the way I live quite local

thanks for the info and pictures John
Feel free to pop along for a chat at club night
