Hi Folks, Well what have we been up to down here in Rotherland, Bob and BSA Matt made it to the Dragon Rally at the beginning of February, Matt was a little disappointed that they did not have to camp in frosty conditions this year, Bob was rather pleased i think, not too fond of the cold is our Bob, but what he is fond of is a decent pint which they managed to find in one of their favourite watering holes the Tap`n Spile in Bangor. That same weekend it was the MCN Show at the Excel, some of our branch were in attendance on various days. I travelled up with Eric, Brian and Bones and we had a great day out, Eric convinced me i needed a new leather jacket , after trying on a couple quite a few times to get the correct fit i came away with one, (and yes Eric she did like me in it)
The following Wednesday on 10th feb we had our first official branch meeting of the year, it was also our first visit of the Old Courthouse in Westfield as a branch and we were made very welcome by the landlord. the meeting was very well attended with 17 of us making it there despite the snowy conditions which worsened while we were there, many items were discussed the main one being our RABBIT RALLY in July marking the 30th anniversary of our branch. Our events list is starting to fill up on the website and hopefully by now the weather has improved to make us feel like venturing out on our bikes and Clive has worked out some ride outs for us, don't forget if you have any ideas on that have a chat with Clive. We are always up for going somewhere different. It has been suggested a visit to the Arlington stadium in the summer either for the speedway or the stockcar racing,
The next planned meeting at the Old Courthouse has been booked for 28th April,
Some of our branch were planning to go and watch the 72nd Pioneer run on 14th March,
Our annual bowling match against the Harley club was being planned to take place in March but as this report went to press a date had not been set, so as always check our website for updates.
Rodders was also planning a fish `n chip supper at possibly the White Hart Catsfield and after last years successful clay pigeon shoots he might be organising one in April for us.
On March 21st at the South of England Show Ardingly its the Real Classic Motorcycle Show, some of our branch will be going to that, and also on 5th April the Classic Motorcycle Show and Bike Jumble in Ashford .
Looking at bit further ahead, on 3rd of May its the May day run from Locksbottom down to Hastings, 16th May over at Hamstreet it the Bike Jumble and Classic Show, even further ahead on the weekend of 5th/6th June the Norseman mcc are holding their annual Poker run and Rally, raising money for good causes, that same weekend Tiny will be with his Tinkers at Tinkers Park Steam Show in Hadlow Down.
Well that it for this one, i do hope that grass has started to go by now.
