Hi Folks, I hope you all had a good festive season and welcome to the new year, lets hope its a good one with plenty of safe motorcycling.
Back in November the Branch held its AGM. The branch posts remain unchanged with "El Presidente" super-glued to his throne, Richie & Em sorting out paperwork, Eric sorting out the finance, Clive plotting the route, Rod working on our out 'n' abouts and I got to keep the branch crayon for another year (aren't I the lucky one). All in all it was decided the Rother Branch had a fairly successful year in 2008. Member numbers stayed about the same, we had quite a few ride outs during the year, had a good Rabbit Rally, and some well attended social events.
Various members of the branch attended the bike show up at the NEC in November and dribbled over the new bikes. On the 13th December we had our Xmas dinner with 28 of us Rotherlanders enjoying a superb meal. Thanks to Sue and the team at The Robin Hood for looking after us so well, also thanks to Em and Clive for organising that one, oh and Eric for doing the raffle.
A few members helped the Sovereign MCC with the Xmas toy run from Horam to Eastbourne on 6th December. Em said it was very successful with a good turnout of bikes and the cars were choc of block with toys. It is hoped the branch will get a bit more involved next year.
Some of us hope to go to the MCN London Motorcycle Show at the end of January, the next Black Horse meeting is planned for the 18th February. Looking a bit further ahead some of the branch are planning to go to the Custom Motor Show on 3rd 4th & 5th April.
If anyone has got any idea of a social event that the club could do, do mention it to Rod, also if anyone has an idea of a ride out, have a chat with Clive. Nice to see a new face at the AGM - welcome Dave from Burwash. We couldn't have put him off too much cos he joined us for the Xmas meal.
Well that's about it for this one, and remember the grass may be greener on the other side but it's just as hard to cut.
