Hi Folks,
On 9th November we had our AGM, I am pleased to report it all went very smoothly with no changes with the branch posts. Chairman Mike, Secretary Richie, Treasurer Eric, Social Events Organizer Rod, Runs Organizer Clive, Webmaster Andy and that leaves me as Club Scribe. Mike reported the club has enjoyed another busy year with ride outs, rallies attended, social events etc and that perhaps next year we could have some ride outs visiting some of the other branches like we do with the Medway branch.
Richie was pleased to report that the Branches membership has stayed much the same with 50+ members, Eric reported that the club funds were in a healthy state, also Richie and Eric gave us a positive report on their trip up to Meriden on 23rd October, with ways of attracting new members and moving the Club forward.
Rod has booked a coach for us to attend the MCN Bike Show 4th February at the Excel, starting at the Robin for Bacon Butties then returning to the Robin for Fish n`Chips. The branch will be subsidizing members for the coach and as always Sue and Carly are doing us a good deal on the food, so let Rod know as soon as possible if you would like to go as numbers are limited.
On Fri 18th November there was a good Rother turn out at the Icklesham Village hall to help Carly celebrate her 25th birthday 1940`s style, with plenty of great music and dancing a great time was had by all, especially Carly.
I previously stated new member Tony came from Rotherfield, well he doesn`t, he actually comes from Mayfield, quite a little track on a wednesday night but good to see you mate.
Several Rotherlites made it up to the NEC for the Motor Cycle Live show on various days in November, Those that i spoke too said it was a good to see Triumph had a good selection of bikes on display just a shame they did not have their clothing stand there, Hopefully it will be at the Excel.
Dates for your 2012 diaries, 15th February we will have a meeting at Old Courthouse Westfield 8pm, main topic being the 2012 RABBIT RALLY which is booked for 13th/15th July, also it give us chance to chat about what the club plan to be doing in the months ahead, so if you have got some ideas of what we might like to do bring them along.
That just leaves me to say Merry Christmas to you all and lets hope 2012 brings plenty of safe motorcycling,
The Mowerman
