Branch Report
June 2009
(as seen in Nacelle)

Hi Folks, Firstly for our older members of our Club, we're sad to report the death of Sid Lorenz, past landlord of the Royal Oak, Pett where we used to meet. A keen biker in his day and our first and longest serving club chairman. Ride safe up there Side.
Us Rotherlands have been out and about since my last report. Back in March several members went and watched the Pioneer Run, either on rout or down in Brighton. With Mothers Day being celebrated on the same day not all of us managed to get out but Rod managed a ride out in the morning then took Jayne over to the Arlington Stadium to watch the Speedway and had a very enjoyable afternoon. Godd result too, the Eastbourne Eagles beat the Poole Pirates.
On Easter Monday Clive, BSA Matt and myself rode over to Ashford for The Classic Bike Show, met up with Rod and Oscar, Bob and Alex. Spotted Pete but he was too quick to catch. Loads of bikes about, plenty of sunshine which helps. The Branch had a clay pigeon shoot on 19th April, attended by Rod, Ed, Mike, Clive, Eric, BSA Matt, Debbie, Jim, Lizzie, Matt, Bob and Alex and the hotshot out of those was BSA Matt. He manged to hit 15! well done mate and to Bob and Rod for sorting that one out. Some of then rewarded themselves with lunch in the White Hart at Newenden afterwards. Unfortunatly I was unable to make that as I had arranged to meet up with Emma as it was my daughter Gemma's birthday wish to have a ride on a horse and as Em has one she very kindly let Gem have a ride on hers. Thanks again for that Em.
Our runs organiser Clive has planned our Branch runs out for the months ahead. First one was planned for 29th April riding over to The Woolpack at Brooklands. I dont think we managed it last year due to the weather, lets hope we made it this time. On 20th May we will be meeting at our usual ride out place, Johns Cross on A21 opposite the caravan showroom, ready to leave at 7.30pm, destination the Six Bells, Chiddingly. The Medway Branch is holding a classic bike event on 7th June and Clive is organising a run up to that, so if your interested in joining us, contact Clive. Also on Sunday 24th May a club run to Box Hill.
As this report goes to press some of us are looking forward to the Medieval Night at The Robin Hood. Rod, Eric, Brian and Bob were planning to stuff themselves up ready for the next days trip to Pembroke for the Welsh Dragon Rat Raid.
Here is another reminder for the forthcoming events. The weekend of 30th/31st May is the Norseman MCC Poker Run with their Rally afterwards on the Saturday night over at Ninfield. Also its the BMF Gem Show at Detling, Kent, and on the same weekend its Tiny and his Tinker Park Steam Show at Hadlow Down, Sussex, and a bit later on I am looking forward to going with Bob, Clive and Eric up to the RAT Raid in the Lake District on 19th/20th/21st June, should be good. Dont forget to keep up to date with whats going on, visit th Branch Website - www.rothertriumphmcc.co.uk - where Airbrush Andy is doing us proud, and another plug for our Rabbit Rally on 10th/11th/12th July. Its going to be a good one.
Well thats about it for this one, get out on your bikes and stay safe. You guess what I have to do, and I dont smoke it.
