Branch Report
November 2009
(as seen in Nacelle)

Hi folks, bit more to report this time from us lot in Rotherland, firstly i have been asked to say a big thank you to Bob and Melica for taking the Rally control tent and all the gear in the van up to Gaydon for the bonnie Bash, it made the weekend even more enjoyable for our member who attended giving them somewhere to meet and eat etc.
Richie was pleased he decided to return home on the Saturday ( he had a family wedding to attend on the Sunday)as his bonnie
decided to spring a oil leak, Quick call to the AA and thankfully after a while got him on the road again.
On Wednesday 26th Aug Clive led about six members on a mystery tour doging the rain clouds and ending up in St Leonards for
Fish n chips and then on to The Robin Hood, Matt, Debbie, Bob, Mandy and Myself with a few others visited the Old Courthouse at Westfield for their annual beer festival on the Sunday of the Aug Bank Holiday, some fine ale was soked up with some fine food, very enjoyable afternoon.
The following weekend eight of our Rotherlites crossed the water for the I.O.W rally, those eight being Bob, Clive, Matt, Mike, Richie
n Em and Tiny n Chris, Tiny making his 80th appearance in a row. It was reported he was some what confused when finding someone taller than himself standing at the bar, photos were taken so hopefully we will see them on the website.
On the way over El Presidente Miguel el Bikey had to watch Clive disappear on the Ferry without him due to his alarm refusing to allow him to disalarm his bike, Bob and Matt turned up and a call was made to Lagunas in Ashford luckily there was someone there at 5.45pm and they very kindly talked him through getting it sorted, a good weekend was had by all, well nearly, last year when just setting of for the rally Richie n Em encounted some problems with their Bonnie and this year when nearly home had some more problems, unfortunately ending up on the tarmac due to another oil leak which went over the back wheel, luckily they were just pulling away from a junction at Stonescross at the time, Em was very grateful to the lady who stopped in her car and helped them get their gear off the road, not too much damage to the bonnie and Em said all was ok with them, just a tad embarrassing. On 9th September Clive led a large group of our club on a ride out over to The Blackboys at Blackboys near Heathfield, the weather was good just a shame the nights were drawing in,this one probably being the last wednesday ride out of the season.
Mike, Matt, Clive, Roger and Chris joined the thousands of bikers over at Brighton on the 13th Sept for the Ace Cafe Brighton Burn up,
Mandy and i met up with Roger down at Goodwood for the Revival on Fri 18th Sept, loads to see, amazing to see all those old bikes and cars being thrashed round the circuit, and a spectacular aircraft display too, good day out. Roger was their for the whole weekend as usual then planned to catch a ferry over to France for a spot of touring before returning home later in the week.
Rod and Eric made it up to the BMF Show at Peterborough that same weekend, as per usual picking up loads of bargains, Rod enjoyed the Speedway that was on while there, i must try and get their myself next year.
Well thats what we done and now to what we plan to do.
Our Social events man Rod booked a meal out for us at Azurs in St Leonards on the 7th October. Then on the Sunday 18th the
hotshots of the club plan to have another shootout ,well clay pigeon shootout, see if BSA matt can do it again.
On the Sunday before that some of us plan to attend the Brightona Custom Show.
Christmas is not far away and our club Xmas meal has been booked for Fri 11th Dec at The Robin Hood, so book your place if you
haven`t. Sue and her girls always do us proud,
That will do for this one, keep it upright
